I ordered this Organic Cotton Barrier Cloth Pillow Case in king size with some hesitation, since there weren't many details listed about the product. It smelled new out of the package, but not a yucky chemical smell. It washed nicely with no remaining odor. When I first removed it from it's packaging, I wasn't sure how comfortable it would be, since it felt a little stiff (hence the "barrier"). But I was pleasantly surprised that it's not too stiff or noisy at all for sleeping on. I use mine with my favorite pillow case on top and have no complaints whatsoever. I'm so pleased with it that I just went back and ordered enough for all of our pillows, king size for us and standard size for the kids. So while details seem to be lacking on the listing of this product (I tried to provide them below), I'm so glad I ordered mine and I would highly recommend this barrier cloth pillow case.

Undyed organic cotton barrier cloth cases.

I've recently developed many allergies, among them a severe dust mite allergy.
I also avoid treated fabrics and dyes. This pillowcase is perfect. It is well priced and works very well. The fabric is smooth, sturdy, and tightly woven with little to no odor. You may still want an even softer or smoother outer case, but it's not necessary.

They only fit standard size pillows, I don't think a larger pillow would fit.
Also, they are often out of stock.

This barrier cloth pillowcase had the least chemical odor of any cloth product I've ever purchased. It took only one washing to be ready for use (typically, it's necessary for me to wash a new item 5-15 times to remove all traces of sizing, etc-- particularly something that will be used right up against my face like a pillowcase). Highly recommended. For those without chemical sensitivity, I can also say that the overall quality of both materials and construction seems to be excellent.
